BIG FLUKE!!!
It’s been a while since my Pop out I ask him all the time but hesays what time I say 6 am he says Your Crazy so he never comes out for 1 reasonor another he basically likes to go out after breakfast around 9 am-ish and back by noon. So today when I said I’m going out around 9 am he said I’ll GO!!!
So I asked my Mom to join us too but she said No. We set off to his favorite Fluking grounds since I was a kid My Father Fluked the same area of the bay since the 1970′s. Back then that’s all you needed to do was fluke the Narrows and you had all kinds of fish Fluke,Weeks, Blow Fish as many as you can catch he never checked the tides it didn’t matter, we always came home with a lot of
fish.
fish.
So today he says what’s the size limit now I say 20.5″ he says WHAT? I say Yeah and 3 Fish per man…
things start off a little slow a few shorts then I get the Magic Hit, Oh yeah you know when you get that keeper and it was 21.5″ Yes ok now it’s Pop’s Turn we go back up and re drift right over the exact same spot and Bam I got the bottom he says, I say no you don’t REEL!!! and Grab the Net and Camera and he lands a FAT 26″ Fluke. 8′ of water on a what? You
know, 1.5 oz Green/White Blue frog Bucktail tipped with Fresh Bluefish strip. I do believe this is the key to the keepers Bounce Bounce like MoJoe and the fresh Bluefish always works for me
I did exactly what he wanted we headed in by Noon

Full Throttle Light tackle Fishing
After Wednesday’s AM trip I knew the Out going tide was going to be just as good if not better. I didn’t have anyone to go with just then my phone rings, its a friend of mine, hey man lets grab a pizza go out to the inlet and catch some fish like we use too
So Timmy,Dean,Laura,DJ and Pablo hit the Ocean to find the fish all over just like the my AM trip.
The fish were in the rough stuff like usual and made it very difficult to get to. I did my usual thing watch the breakers see exactly how far I could push it and tell them to get ready I’m coming in HOT.
My Buddies know what this means we’ve been here many times before and we call it Full Throttle Fishing. I time the waves make a mad dash for the birds Spin the boat and they Fire the Bucktails into the Blitz. I stay on the controls keeping the Bow pointed at the waves and hopefully someone hooks up. The out going was ripping so you got 1 shot maybe two to hook up each time we did this.
The Fish wanted the retrieve extra fast. If you went slow no fish??? So we managed 4 Stripers 2 keepers and few blues not many thank God. This went on till 8pm when it seemed to be over and we decided to call it a day. Like the Professional we fished it hard, over some fertile structure for 2 hours lol…
Please don’t try this especailly if your not fimilar with these conditions you could loose your boat or even worse your life.
Hopefully its a little nicer today

Michael Gets His 1st ever Keeper
Wednesday 5:30 Am had Nephew Michael out with me and it was just picture perfect. We started out with some surface plugs catching a few blues in the bay near the Bridge then we headed out to the inlet. We worked some fish in the west cut but they wouldn’t take our offerings so we moved out side to the breakers and found a nice Blitz of stripers all over the outer bar. I had the rods all rigged up with Bucktails and ready to use. Michael hooked up 1st as we worked the breakers. We had out going tide so I would Maneuver the boat as close as I could get spin the boat and have Michael fire his bucktail into the working birds. The speed on the retrieve today had to be fast or the Bass would not hit the bucktails? Anyway here’s a video of Michael’s 1st ever Striper then he got his very own keeper as well.
Awesome AM trip we were back to the dock by 9 am and Michael told me he loved the Striped Bass his Mom cooked up last night
Here’s a few more shots from yesterday trip
Striper Season is Red Hot now come on down and get some!!!

1 Plug 2 Fish Let’s Get Together and See What Bites
1 Plug, 2 Fish Lets hit the water and see what Bites.
Had to move Dave’s boat today so we decided to hit the water early and see what’s out there. As soon as we left my Canal the Birds were all over and we threw Plugs all morning long and landed several Blues and 1 nice Keeper Bass. Video to follow
