Oct 6 2011 Sunrise Top Water Striped Bass Fishing at It’s Finest !!!

Headed out on Thursday 6 Am alone I tried several people but no one wanted to play, so Solo I go. The Top Water Action was so Hot most of the times you hardly had to pop the Popper. Best Lure of the day was this Gibbs Polaris Popper Yellow pictured below.

This Beautiful 36″ Mid Teen size Striper was on my 1st Cast. I had a Total of 12 Stripers from 6:30 to 8:30 AM then as the tide died so did the bite and I headed in. Just Wish everyday could be so good

Played Catch and Release with 12 fish all ranging 30 to 36″

NOW IS THE TIME TO BOOK YOUR TRIP

MAMA MIA BASS ON EVERY CAST!!!

Asked several friends to join me all had things to do but Jr , HE got out of work early 3 PM and we hit the inlet for BASS ON EVERY CAST TOP WATER FISHING!!! It was great, out going tide, North wind, Slow rollers, NO problem. We were having the time of our life catching as the plugs hit the water that’s how HOT the fishing was nothing big all teen size fish but very EXPLOSIVE.

I was using a Brand new Gibbs Polaris Popper and was on my 20th fish when the back Treble Hook got me. The fishes weight sank the hook deep into my hand and it was GAME OVER. Yes I actually got it on Video Don’t laugh we all been there. Thank God Jr CRUSHED the Barbs on the fish before or I would have been in real trouble

Brookhaven Emergency Dr was great he slide some kind of tool along side the hook and covered the barb so it slide right out no stitches.

NOW IS THE TIME ITS RED HOT!!!

MAMA MIA FISH EXPLODING ON BAIT TOP WATER MORICHES STRIPED BASS FISHING

A while ago I received a call from Bill Paturalski  and his friend Rich from South Carolina he use to live in NY and reads all my reports and was going to be on Long Island Sunday and Monday Oct 2 + 3rd and wanted to go fishing. I said sure no problem lets keep an eye on the weather and sea conditions. Well as we got closer to Sunday arranged time the Ocean was really kicking so I decided to push the trip back to Monday afternoon and what a good idea that was. We not only had fish up in the bay put we also followed them out the inlet and out front with CRAZY TOP WATER action from 4 to 6 pm.

With a Very Strong outgoing tide two of my good friends came out with his small boat and I loaded them up with some Peanuts and off they went to the breakers 5 minutes later I get a call. Pablo were stuck come tow us in were about 100 feet from the breakers and we threw the anchor. Wholly $#it I said do you have Sea Tow? No. Are you kidding me? No do you have a radio? No OMG ok I’ll be right there. Somehow they broke the key off in the ignition and could not start the boat. So I pulled up they tossed me there anchor line and I slowly pulled them all the way to the back of the inlet by the Island.

They said they will try and hot wire it and I said well I’m going to still fish for another hour if your not out of here by then I’ll tow you home ok? OK. So we hit the out going and was treated to INSANE fishing for another hour. My buddy called me they hot wired the boat and made it home.

Glad everything worked out Bill and Rich had the time of there lifes we lost some big ones but that’s how it goes they went home with 3 keepers to 15-18 lbs. Also landed some BIG Choppers.

Check out the insane Blitz Video the fish were chasing the bait completely out of the water JUST INSANE!!!

Fishing is just SICK-O right now call  me
