Weekend Update
This past weekends fishing was very good.
On Friday we saw Mega Bluefish in the 8 lbs class all over from the Smith Point Bridge to Forge Point. They hit almost anything especially Bunker Chunks but I liked using my Yo-Zuri Mag Minnow which they had no problem inhaling.
The Bait has moved in big time and was all over from the Smith Point Bridge to Forge Point. My fish finder looked liked this most of the time.
On Saturday we were able to locate some keeper Bass !!! Chris (Codi Jones) landed this nice keeper and Paul (The Red Wolf) who was fishing next to us also landed a few…
Sunday was Rained out for most eveyone but I heard that Capt Dennis landed a few Blues and Bass up to 25″ in and around Smith Point Bridge.
With the bait in full force and now the water temps heating up to along with a full MOON we should see things really heating up. Now is the best time to get in on the spring Bass

THEY’RE BACK!!!
Got a call from Mark Pawlitschek today he wanted to hit the water in search of some Stripers. We searched all over and only had 2 hits before Mr.Bluefish showed up in full force!!!
We searched all over Patter Squash, Forge Pt., the Bridge and Cranberry dock. No bass Hmmmm then Mark hooked up into a big Blue. This fish made several runs and Mark was huffing and Puffing by the time he landed the 1st big Blue. This big blue was sided hooked and made a 8 lbs fight like a 20 plus lbs fish. After we started landing a few of those big suckers we switched from the Yo-Zuri Mag Minnows to diamond jigs with Green tubes. This made it alot easier to remove the hooks and was alot better for the fish that we released.
These Big Blues put up one hell of a fight on my light tackle rods!!! They made many runs and wore me out…
These BIG BAD BLUES reached 29″ and were around the 7 to 8 lbs class fish.
What a fighter I love the runs and jumps these ferocious fighters make. Ah the sound of screaming drag, music to my ears
These fish should be here all week so If you want to get in on the action give me a call

Schoolie Action Continues in Moriches
Monday the wind was blowing NE 15 to 20 all day then around 5-ish it layed down to almost nothing. I decided to see if the sun warmed up the bay enough to get the fish active again water temps was 51/52 again. Chris “Wild Goose” joined me and we hit the bridge area with Yo-zuri Mag Minnows but with no luck? I saw a surf guy nail one with a diamond Jig looked like green tude so Chris went to that. I stayed on the Yo-Zuri but the tide was ripping and I then switched to a 1.5oz White/Green Blue Frog Bucktail with Yellow Split Josh and on my 2nd cast Bam caugh this guy. [
After that we tried a few different spots but only saw a few splashes from what appeared to be bunker. Come on Mr.Golden Sun Please Shine Down on Me…
Things should heat up all week and the fish should be getting bigger

Saturday Morning Action
April 17 2010
Water Temps
After last weeks warming trend I figured the
Stripers would be in big time this Saturday.
We’ll that wasn’t the case, as the past 2 days of cold nights
Lowered the water temp from 58 on Thursday to 48 today.
Listening to the weather man I had no plans of heading out but
when I woke up at 5:45 am I saw NO WIND!!!
I was shocked flipped on the weather channel and saw 5 knot winds or less
Send a PM to Chris (Codi Jones) NO WIND LETS GO!!!
he replies: See you at 6:30
Now It’s a bit foggy and damp the tide was high and still coming in.
I noticed no bait present in the canal or on the way out.
Went to my spots that were producing all week and I caught 1 Schoolie
Bass for about 1.5 hours of casting.
I didn’t snap any pictures but here’s one from the other day
I said to Codi lets go over to Pattersquash and see if we have better luck
We head over and I notice something swimming in the water
What the Hell is that ???
All of a sudden a Big Black Head pops up
It’s a SEAL right next to the boat!!!
Chris (Codi Jones) says if the seal is here then the bait is here too.
We try right where he was nada…
Then we see 3 egrets (birds that swim under water)
catching something close to shore. We move over there Bam Codi on
another schoolie but at least he caught something.
Then we re set and bam I get another one same size but
at least we had action.
We fished from 6:30 to 9:30 am 3, 20″ Bass light NE winds high water
incoming tide temps 47/48 degrees
over 100 casts
Yo-Zuri Crystal Minnow 2 Bass
Yo-zuri Mag Minnow 1 Bass
Storm Shad 0
Green 1.5 oz Blue Frog yellow Josh Split 0
Saturday AM out on the water Priceless

Fish, Fish and more Fish!!!
Today was a full fun packed day of Fish,Fish and more Fish…
I was picked to accompany Paul Anthony and his school mates to Atlantis Marine World in Riverhead NY. All the kids today had an exceptional good time while learning all about many different types of fish.
They had a ball while playing with all exhibits everything from Penguins, Monkeys, Aligators, Seal Show and much more… I can’t remember Paul Anthony so excited to go anywhere as much as he was to go to Atlantis. It was just great and I was so happy I went.
So after the kids got home I decided to take them out fishing since i had such a good day yesterday. Well we putted to the Bridge and I went right back to the same spot and by the 4th cast I had a fish on!!!
Mia and Paul Anthony both got to reel in a Bass Mia reeled in 2 Paul Anthony got 1 but we lost his 2nd fish half way to the boat. We only stayed for 1 hour and released all the fish. I was glad to just catch a fish with the kids on the boat they really didn’t care if it was a keeper or not they just wanted to see a fish…
OPENING DAY IS TOMORROW
Capt.Paul Peluso will be out there how about you?
