Sick Bite in Orient on the Primetime 3
35 Bass were deck in Orient on the Primetime 3 Monday May 24 2010
I got a call from Brian a while ago. Hey I booked a Orient trip you want to come sure no problem. Brian didn’t mention anything about him getting Married or that this was his bachlor party. So I went and I’m so glad I did. 1st we started off diamond Jigging the gut with a few bass coming up, I think Brian actually caught the 1st keeper.
So Capt Mike says ok boys were gonna take a ride to the race and buck tail us some Bass!!! Great this gave us some time to eat the food that they brought and drink a brew. 1st Mate Matt set up all our rods and we begin our assult on the Stripers. We had double,Triple and even 5 on at a time it was really exhilarating I caught some of the action on video
It was AWESOME everybody was landing fish after fish after fish!!! I had at least 6 or 7 then I started to help the 1st mate and coach a few of the other so they all caught a bass.
we ended up with 35 Bass keeping 26 and releaseing the rest. Big Tony was the pool winner with a 20 lbs fish
Capt Mike and Matt are great if you got a group together and want to catch stripers give Mikey a call 631-323-2618 or www.Primetime3.com Tell him PABLO sent yea!!!
It was a great time had by all glad I was part of it. One of the best trips I ever had.
Thanks Brian for the invte here’s to you and your bride to be may you have many happy years a head of you !!!

Jamaica Bay Big Fat Bass
Can you guess the weight of this Big Fat Bass???
For the last month or so I’ve been reading these great reports of big Bass from Jamaica Bay.
Waiting for the big fish to get here in Moriches. I even said something along the lines of Oooooo I beginning to hate Jamaica Bay lol. So I get a PM from Scott1280, Hey Pablo I landed a 38 lbs on Monday if you want take a ride out Thursday and jump on my boat. I said ok not realizing his house is 1.5 hours away

. When I finally get there Scott and Joe are waiting and getting fully dressed in grundens and boots. I’m like aren’t we just going in the Bay???
Don’t worry Pablo my boats dry you’ll be all right he did offer me his extra pair I said nah (Mistake). So we fly to the ramp and off we go Scott knows 2 speeds STOP and FULL THROTTLE .

I personally like fishing in new areas, I’m like a little kid in a candy store.
Here’s the technical thanks to Scott cause I was a fish out of water I knew the historic land marks like Coney Island Amusement Park, Verrazano bridge the Empire State Building as a back drop but not the local locations so here it goes. Launched in Inwood. Ran across Jamaica Bay and around Breezy Point to the Ocean. Then went to Mill Basin, then to Grassy Bay for Bunker and wound up in cross bay by Gil Hodges Bridge.
The Ocean was choppy and the wind was blowing the spray back at us luckily I had a few layers on so it wasn’t bad but I could have done with out it. So after about 1 hour of slop and chop we decided to head back inside to snag and net some bunker. OMG the amount of Bunker in that bay is insane no wonder why there’s such great fishing there.
Joe was getting set up with the net and made a really good cast for at least 15 to 20 adult Bunkers, YES!!!
Then he and Scott also helped there friend fill his well too made 2 more casts and off we went to find the Bass. Tried a few spots but ended up by the Gil Hodges Bridge anchored up and chunked bunker for 3 keeper bass and 1 lost at the boat .
I really liked fishing that way you get to feel the Bass pick up your bait and run with it then you get to set the hook
. Back at the dock by 11:30 pm filet clean boat put everything away long drive home shower bed by 2 am but I’d do it again if Scott would have me back…

Singing In the Rain
Listening to the weather man last night I had no intention of going out this am. However at 5:30 I heard Birds chirping and gave a look see. No wind, No Rain? Ut-Oh phone ringing it’s Dean yo lets go!!! Ok Buddy. 6 am ish hey where this wind coming from??? EAST dam 15 mph oh well at least its not raining…

So of course we go right back to the exact spot we had them at yesterday and wouldn’t ya know it Bam Pablo On!!! This fish puts up a good fight even though its just a keeper?
Ok I put it in my live well and Dean lands a short back it goes. I look west and about 1000 yards I see a huge concentration of birds working. I look at Dean he looks at me and were off. Sure enough we see fish breaking all over. We make our casts and its all Blue fish…

So we go back to the area we were working and land a few more blues a few hits but land no more Bass
. It’s now 8:30 Am visibility is 6′ water temp 52 but air is 45 and it starts to rain. Its COLD, WET and WINDY, lets go to work. But right before we leave the MEGA BLUE BLITZ say that 3 times fast lol. Moves right on top of us. I shot some video of it. It was really thick just an awesome site you could smell the fish it was so thick.
All Bass caught on 1.25 oz White Blue frog Buck Tail with Yellow Uncle Josh. Spearing was in the belly of the Bass
