Had Jay Brunder out Monday Nov 1 2010. Jay been asking me to go fishing so I said sure come on down were going West today . I passed on drifting eels in the Inlet and this proved to be the best move we made all day. 6:15 am, As soon as we passed Great Gun we found birds working I had two rods all ready to go with A-27 Diamond Jigs with the Green Tubes. Jay then tells me “I haven’t caught a Striped Bass from a boat since 1985 and that I must be CURSED”!!!  I say great now cast over there at the birds and we’ll break your curse. I think it took 2 or 3 casts and Bam fish on! I grab the video camera we don’t want to miss the curse breaker and Jay lands his 1st Striper from a boat since 1985 and it was a Keeper too . Jay said I must release the 1st keeper I catch even its a 50 lbs Striped Bass or I’ll never shake the bad luck Curse, and set his keeper FREE!!!

Little did we know that this was going to be the day we returned 40 keepers to the ocean   .  The 1st batch of fish were in the 28 to 31″ range then we found another batch 30 to 33″ then we went west a bit more found 33 to 36″ and then we found the 36 to 40″ plus fish this was just unbelievable fishing acres and acres of KEEPER STRIPED BASS No Blue Fish!!!

As the sun rose so did the sand eels and the Stripers went crazy blitzing all around the boat and a FAST retrieve was needed to catch them in the upper water column.

As you can tell by Jays facial expression it was one of those days you soon won’t forget landing fish over 20 lbs . We stayed till we couldn’t cast anymore 10 hours of fishing and headed back to the barn with our limit of Striped Bass releasing 40 to catch another day  Check out the fish finder find the Arch’s and you’ll find the fish
